During the months of September and October we had the priveledge of working with Vickie Bruno.  Vickie opened the world of sign language to our class.  Well for those of us who don't know much about sign language anyway.  Vickie talked to us about how to incorporate sign language into the classroom.  She showed us how to do a few signs such as hello, my name is..., and how are you?  I tell you what, I certainly have a new found respect for people who use sign language (not that I didn't respect them before).  You really work your finger and hands!  What an amazing world we live in.  We can actually communicate with our hands.

Vickie gave us some great handouts that will come in handy.  It is too bad we didn't have more time to learn some more signs.  Our time got cut short due to workshops and conferences.  I was thinking that maybe I should learn sign language so that I could teach my children sign language.  I'm imaging my conversations with my kids when they get mad at me!  Probably not a good idea.  Anyway, like I said before I enjoyed the time that we experience with Vickie Bruno.  It was a memorable one for me.
